The calm waters of the shell shaped bay at Sao Martinho do Porto are perfect for sailing, windsurfing and swimming. In the resort there are a number of restaurants and bars with superb views across the bay.
A 15 minute drive along the coast is the beach resort of Foz Do Arelho where the more lively Atlantic Ocean at Foz do Arelho provides a surfers paradise located at the mouth of the Obidos Lagoon with its many restaurants and bars. Caldas Da Rainha is a ten minute drive inland. This is a great place to wander with a good selection of shops, supermarkets, museums, parks, daily local markets, restaurants and bars. A further 10 minutes away is the historical gem, Obidos.
Lisbon is a one hour drive on the A8 motorway and the number one golf course in Portugal, Praia d'el Rey, is a 30 minute drive. There is also the Golden Eagle near Santarem and Como Real near Torres Vedras. Porto Airport is approximately 2 and a half hours drive.
