French doors lead from the lounge to the patio area which is furnished with large
table with chairs, a parasol and BBQ. The garden has its own pool and is
surrounded by a hedge, making it secluded and private. There are two sun
loungers and a hammock in the pool area. Private driveway to the side of the villa.

Villa Azul is located within the idyllic country club resort of Praia D'el Rey. The
resort sits atop the fabulous Atlantic coastline in Portugal's unspoiled and historical
Oeste region. The resort offers one of Portugal's premier golf courses (voted #1 in
Portugal and #13 in Europe by the Golf World Magazine). The villa, which is close
to a local shop and tennis complex, is tastefully decorated and is only a five minute
walk from the club house. The resort owns its beautiful private beach, only a ten
minute walk away. The beach is great for sunbathing, walking and favoured by
surfers. Overlooking the beach is a 5 star Marriot hotel with health spa, gym, bars
and restaurants. A great holiday for adults as well as families with children.

Coast/Beach
Praia D'el Rey boasts its own fabulous stretch of long sandy beach, which is great
for sunbathing and walking. Strong currents and a constant sea swell, however,
make it unsuitable for swimming in areas without a life guard. The nearby Obidos
lagoon and Peniche beach are much calmer and great for kids. There are several
great spots for surfing and other water sports. South of the resort, the beaches of
Baleal, Peniche and Supertubes offer superb surifng conditions. Board hire/lessons
available.

Golf

The villa is situated on one of Portugal's finest golf courses. Tee off and meet the
challenge of a links front 9 with stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean, followed by
a beautiful tree-lined back 9. Golf buggies can be hired.
Driving range, putting green and golf lessons available.

Travel

The nearest airport is Lisbon which is approximately an hour's drive from Praia D'el
Rey. Car hire strongly recommended, although taxis from the airport should cost
approx. EUR90 each way. Directions given upon booking.

Alternative airports are Porto, approx. 2 hours drive and Faro, approx. 3 hours
drive from Praia D'el Rey.

Distances

Obidos, a beautiful, historical, medieval town 15 miutes drive.

Obidos lagoon, calm waters offering sailing and wind surfing, ideal for kids, 10
minutes drive.

Peniche, great fish restaurants, boat trips to the nearby Berlenga Islands, a
national nature reserve, 10 minutes drive.

Caldas da Rainha, spa city offering shopping, open air fruit and vegetable market
and restaurants, 20 minute drive.

Lisbon, a 45 minites drive and a must!

Further details

There is a small supermarket on the resort. Other supermarkets are located in
Peniche and Caldas da Rainha. There is a cash machine and telephone outside the
club house. The restaurant in the club house is excellent (take out also available)
and the restaurant in the hotel also offer fine cuisine.

Other than golf, activities include:-

Tennis: Courts can be booked for a knock around or for the more serious, one to
one coaching is available at the tennis complex, a 3 minute walk from the villa.

Football: There is an international FIFA standard football pitch. Volleyball and
handball courst also available.

Mountain biking and walking: The surrounding pine forests and coastal roads are
idyllic for walking and biking. Bikes can be hired from the hotel.

Surfing: As well as the resort beach, other local beach breaks offer all types of surf
conditions suitable to all levels. Board hire and lessons available at local surf shops
in Baleal and Peniche. Wind surfing and kite surfing also available at these
beaches.

Horse riding: There are several equesterian centres, all within 15 - 45 minutes,
each offering different rides. From forest tracks to galloping along the beach.
Lessons available for beginners though to champion jockeys!

Diving and fishing: There is a diving centre in Peniche, which takes regular trips to
the nearby Berlenga Islands. At the marina you can also charter a fishing boat for
deep-sea fishing.
