The picture above is from an article entitled "Oeste integra Lisboa Golf Coast" in Gazeta das Caldas - Online, which appeared in the newspaper itself on 2nd June 2006.

The article explains that the marketing brand of "GolfOeste" was present at a major exhibition in London.
GolfOeste is to be integrated into "Lisboa Golf Coast" (Lisbon Golf Coast) and they plan to spend 780 thousand euros this year on promotion primarily in the UK, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Denmark. (They mention Scotland separately, as though it were not part of the UK.) Also they describe as secondary, the established markets of Germany and Holland.
The five golf courses of the "GolfOeste" brand that will now be part of the new brand "Lisbon Golf Coast" are listed as the 18 hole
Campo Real (Turcifal - Torres Vedras), Praia D’El Rey Golf & Country Club (Obidos) and Quinta do Brincal Golf Course (Asseiceira - Rio Maior) and the nine holes of Clube de Golfe do Botado (Atouguia da Baleia) and Golfe do Vimeiro (Torres Vedras).
The Contract of Tourist Promotion of the Plan of Action (PAE) for Lisbon Golf Coast was signed on 11th May, in the Tivoli Hotel, Lisbon. This plan includes the joint promotion abroad of the 22 golf courses of the region of Lisbon.
Peter Pereira Coutinho of the PAE was reported as saying “We want to be known as a golf icon, just as Australia is a surf destination or the Alps is a ski destination”.
Also reported in the paper on 2nd June was a presentation given by the RTO (Regiao de Turismo do Oeste - Oeste Tourism Region) to 80 English investors, banks and real estate agents at the Portuguese Embassy in Lisbon on 10th April 2006.
Antonio Carneiro president of the RTO suggested that the most important growth resorts were Falesias d El Rey (Bom Sucesso), Quinta da Abrigada, Quintas de Obidos, Perola da Lagoa, Grupo Oceanico, Paimogo, Praia Azul, Golfe Municipal de Torres Vedras, and the projects of expansion Golden Eagle, Campo Real and Vimeiro, of the group Espírito Santo.
