From reading the Gazeta das Caldas I understand that the two unsightly half-finished blocks of apartments overlooking the beach at Facho in Foz do Arelho have finally been acquired by a company who intends to complete their construction and sell them on. These have been an eyesore for as long as I can remember and it will certianly improve the appearance of the area above Foz when they have been completed. They are in a fantastic position and should sell well if they get the finishings right.

Supermarket opening times vary. It is safe to assume that most will be open by 9.30 in the morning and will close at 22.00 at night. On Sundays most supermarkets will close at 13.00.

Maintenance service charges at PDR.
Over the last year or so there seems to have been many conversations about the maintenance charges at PDR, with some people refusing to pay, threats of removal of golf membership etc. Does anyone know the latest situation? We have just recieved the latest bill for 2006 and have still not had answered our questions about how individual figures are made up - what services they are paying for and breakdowns of payments made. Also there has never been an explanation as to why different size houses / villas / apartments etc pay different rates when is is a maintenance charge for communal areas. We are next out in February half term and it would be useful to have any additional information when we once again go in to try and sort things out.
